Cleric Emphasizes Strengthening Quranic Knowledge, Institutionalizing Islamic Lifestyle

IQNA – The representative of Grand Ayatollah Sistani in Karbala emphasized that given the conditions of today’s world, the necessity of strengthening Quranic knowledge and institutionalizing the Islamic lifestyle among Muslims has doubled.

Sheikh Abdul Mahdi al-Karbalayi said in a meeting with the International Committee for Monitoring the Holy Quran Project with QR Technology that today’s world is facing increasing intellectual and cultural challenges due to the expansion of media and social networks.

These conditions double the necessity of strengthening Quranic knowledge and institutionalizing the Islamic lifestyle among Muslims, he stated.

Referring to the importance of paying attention to the correct recitation of the Holy Quran, he considered teaching Tajweed and Tarteel as an effective factor in attracting hearts to the Holy Quran.

After the correct recitation of the Holy Quran, understanding the concepts and meanings of the verses as a guide to life has a special place, he emphasized.

Sheikh al-Karbalayi described the Holy Quran as a comprehensive book of guidance that guides man in all aspects of life and explains the ultimate goal of serving God.

Appreciating the efforts made in serving the Holy Quran and spreading its teachings, especially among the youth, the senior cleric emphasized the development of cooperation to transfer the achievements of Quranic projects to Islamic societies, including African countries and Indonesia.

He also referred to the activities of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein (AS) holy shrine and said the Astan has played an active role in holding Quranic courses for children, adolescents and young people, identifying superior talents in the field of memorization and recitation, and establishing Quranic science education institutions in various Islamic countries.

He concluded by saying that serving the Holy Quran is a continuous duty and the believer never settles for one stage, but always steps forward on the path of progress and further efforts so that the message and teachings of the Holy Quran spread throughout the world from East to West.
