Palestinian Students Compete in Ramadan Quran Competition

IQNA – The Palestinian Authority’s ministry of education and higher education organized a special Quran competition for students during Ramadan.

The competition was held in cooperation with the Palestinian ministry of Awqaf and religious affairs with the aim of encouraging students to memorize and recite the Quran correctly and strengthen their connection with the Book of God and Quranic values, Shifa reported.

Amjad Barham, the minister of education and higher education y, Muhammad Najm, the minister of Awqaf and religious affairs, and representatives from these two ministries attended the event.

A total of 210 Palestinian male and female students from education departments and various educational levels participated in the competition and demonstrated their abilities in the fields of memorization, recitation, rules of Tajweed, and interpretation and understanding of the concepts of Quranic verses.

Speaking at the event, Amjad Barham said this competition is an important step in the efforts of the education ministry to strengthen the religious culture among students and strengthen the spirit of Quranic competition among them.

The Quran is the main source of Islamic values ​​and principles in daily life, he stated.

He added that implementing such programs is a fundamental pillar in promoting Quranic awareness among young people and strengthening a correct understanding of the values ​​and teachings of Islam.

Barham also said this competition strives to encourage students to continue memorizing the Holy Quran and applying its teachings in their behavior and daily lives.
