The Iranians’ Hajj 2026 pilgrimage was conducted with dignity and safety and the country’s Hajj operation ended Sunday.
The first Hajj convoy of Iran had left the country for the Holy Land on April 27, and today, after 49 days, all the pilgrims returned to the country.
Alireza Rashidian, head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, who returned to the country Saturday night with one of the last Hajj convoys, said this year’s pilgrimage was an extraordinary and special Hajj.
He thanked the Leader of the Islamic Revolution for issuing the permit to participate in this year’s Hajj.
Expressing regret that this year, due to the circumstances and Saudi Arabia's laws, Iran was unable to send 86,000 pilgrims to Hajj like in previous years, Rashidian said that nonetheless, this year, Hajj was accomplished with dignity, authority, and pride for the Iranian nation, and “with the efforts that were made, we witnessed the presence of Iranian pilgrims among other pilgrims as a message of peace, friendship, equality, and brotherhood.”
