IQNA – Amira Abdel Hadi, an Egyptian woman in Luxor province, has taken to restoring torn Qurans collected from mosques, and she does this with sincerity of intention and only to please God.

Holy Quran

A reporter from Egypt’s Al-Ahram News Agency spoke with the mother and her son and reported: Amira Abdel Hadi is sitting quietly in a corner of her house in Luxor province, and the recitation of the Quran by Sheikh Muhammad Siddiq Al-Minshawi is broadcast in this space as usual every day.

With her sharp eyes, she begins to examine the Quran whose pages have been torn due to repeated use.

She slowly runs her fingers over the pages of the Quran, as if she loves its cover and pages, wiping away the dust particles stuck to the Quran, and at this moment, the journey of its revival by the hands of Muslims begins.

Next to her, Ahmed Al-Hawari, her son, a dentist, sits and helps her in her valuable work; she arranges the pages and prepares the new cover, in complete silence, without attracting attention or expecting financial reward, and only on a spiritual journey with the pure intention of serving the Book of God.

The Egyptian woman says, “The work I do to bind the Quran is to please God and I do not expect anything in return.”

She told Al-Ahram that the goal is to return the torn Qurans to the mosques so that they can be read again, and the work she and her son do is an ongoing charity and a good deed that she has dedicated only to God.

Without fanfare, without advertising or marketing, Amira has started a voluntary initiative to bind torn or damaged copies of the Quran in mosques and Quran memorization centers, in order to become a living example of family cooperation and good deeds.

After collecting the torn Qurans from mosques or memorization circles, Amira and her son begin the meticulous work of rearranging the scattered pages and, before binding them, using a type of high-quality natural leather, carefully examining them to ensure that the Quran will remain usable for many years.

This lady from Luxor has prepared special bookbinding tools to achieve her goal. She also pays attention to the quality of the paper during the restoration and complete preservation of the texts of the Holy Quran, without any changes or manipulations in the letters or verses.

She emphasized, “When I return the Quran safely to the mosque, I feel that my work has reached directly to the hearts of the worshipers, and this is enough reward for me.”

She added, “My son also cooperates with me with sincerity so that the verses of God will remain alive in the houses of God.”
