
The Egyptian Prime Ministerial Council, chaired by Mustafa Madbouly, approved the establishment of the new faculty at Al-Azhar University called the Faculty of Quranic Recitations and Sciences, Tawasul reported.
The council explained that this decision was taken after reviewing the Constitution and Law No. 103 of 1961 on the reorganization of Al-Azhar and its affiliated institutions and its executive regulations, and after the approval of the Supreme Council of Al-Azhar and the recommendation of the Sheikh of Al-Azhar.
The decision, which was published in the official gazette, includes the establishment of two branches of this faculty, one for boys and the other for girls.
The boys’ branch will be located at the Islamic Call Faculty in Cairo, and the girls’ branch will be located at the Islamic and Arabic Studies Faculty for Girls also in Cairo.
Education in these two branches will begin in the 2026/2027 academic year.
