IQNA – Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized that the current conflict must conclude in a manner that deters future attacks and aggressions by adversaries.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Araghchi said the enemies have already learned a significant lesson and understand they are facing a nation unwilling to hesitate in its self-defense and prepared to extend the conflict as far as necessary.

He reflected on a year of “difficult but proud days” for the Islamic Republic of Iran in the current Iranian calendar year, which will end in a few days.

He noted that the past year has been unique in the nation’s history, marked by the conclusion of one war and ongoing engagement in another.

Araghchi described the year as both challenging and, simultaneously, a source of pride and honor. He recalled the beginning of the year with an enemy demanding unconditional surrender, only to later request an unconditional ceasefire after 12 days. He stated that a similar scenario, but with greater intensity and power, was replayed, with the enemy mobilizing all their forces in an attempt to force Iran’s unconditional surrender.

He further elaborated that on the first day, a massive volume of attacks and actions were launched. “Subsequently, the enemy again began with demands for unconditional surrender. Now, nearly 15 days into the conflict, they are seeking assistance from those they previously considered enemies, including other countries, for the security of the Strait of Hormuz.”

The Foreign Minister asserted that the Strait of Hormuz remains open from Iran’s perspective, but it is closed to the enemies and those who have perpetrated unjustifiable aggression against Iran, as well as their allies.

Emphasizing Iran’s “proud resistance,” Araghchi stated the country will continue this resistance without any wavering.
