Muslims, Free People of World Urged to Come to Aid of Lebanese People
In a message on Sunday, Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi called on Muslim nations, free people of the world, and Islamic governments to support the helpless Lebanese people and the brave and resilient Hezbollah.
“The news of the brutal attacks by the Zionist regime on parts of Lebanon and the martyrdom and injury of hundreds of defenseless people, especially women and children, has caused deep sorrow and grief,” the message read.
“Undoubtedly, this regime, which does not adhere to humanitarian principles, has committed crimes that deeply wound the conscience of every free person by attacking hospitals, vital infrastructure, and civilian centers.
“It is appropriate for Muslim nations, the free people of the world, and Islamic governments to support the defenseless people of this land and their brave and resilient Hezbollah, and to note that previous experiences have shown that any weakness or compromise in the face of aggression will pave the way for its repetition and escalation.”

The senior cleric went on to say, “It is expected that the relevant officials and institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as in the past, will work within the framework of their humanitarian and Islamic duties to reduce the suffering and support the oppressed people of Lebanon.”
He offered his condolences to Imam Zaman (AS) for this heartbreaking tragedy, and prayed to God Almighty for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs, the speedy recovery of the injured, and patience and reward for the survivors.
