
According to the Egyptian Today, the Al-Azhar Intellectual Center for the Study of Current Issues at Al-Azhar Grand Mosque resumes its weekly activities under the title “Cognitive and Spiritual Preparation for Hajj: From an Islamic Perspective” through a live broadcast on the Egyptian Quran Radio, under the supervision of Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the sheikh of Al-Azhar, and under the management of Abdel Moneim Fouad and Hani Odeh.
The program will feature speeches by Ibrahim Al-Hodhud, former president of Al-Azhar University, and Professor Ramadan Al-Sawi, Vice President of Al-Azhar University of Lower Egypt. The discussion of the session will be presented by Mas’ad Al-Jawhari, Media Expert at Egypt Al-Quran Radio.
The program will feature the recitation of the Holy Quran by Sheikh Abdel Fattah Al-Tarouti and some of the supplications recited by Sheikh Muhammad Abdel Salam Al-Husseini.
Abdul Moneim Fouad said that the “Al-Azhar Intellectual Center for the Study of Current Issues” is one of the important activities that Al-Azhar is eager to hold, noting that the topics of this prorgam are selected based on the latest developments in the current situation, doubts about the established principles of Sharia, and the changes facing the nation and the Islamic and Arab world.

He emphasized that the selection of topics is in line with the events that the Egyptian people are facing and that it involves a wide segment of the population, and that it does not stop at refuting doubts raised about Islam, but rather discusses all issues in Egypt and abroad.
He noted that in addition to choosing the topics, the speakers are also selected very carefully based on the program’s theme. Accordingly, the specialties and figures, whether from the members of the Council of Senior Scholars or from scholars and experts in various specialties from Al-Azhar University and beyond, are selected based on the topic under discussion.
