Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hasan described the matter as "serious", as Putrajaya moves to strengthen the publishing ecosystem for religious books.
The Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) has given its opinion on the issue, he said.
"We consider this a serious matter involving negligence in the publication of works containing errors," Zulkifli said.
"This is currently under investigation, and we are waiting for the outcome of the probe," he told reporters.
Zulkifli said religious writers must ensure accuracy in their work.
"While we encourage new religious publications, we must ensure authenticity and validity. This is critical, and we will strengthen monitoring," he said.
He said the government is working to establish the Malaysian Religious Books Publishing Council to bring together publishers and strengthen the sector.
"And, Insha-Allah (God willing), we will look into this matter more deeply to determine further action," he added.
Aisyah had earlier issued a public apology on Instagram after her book Wanita Syurga came under criticism.
Despite the apology, Zulkifli said the government remains committed to ensuring such mistakes do not recur.
He was speaking after officiating the 2026 Syariah (Sharia) Lawyer National Convention.

Zulkifli said the Syariah Court fast-track initiative had achieved a disposal rate of over 97 per cent, with most cases resolved within one day.
He said efforts to digitalize Syariah Court services are being strengthened through the e-Syariah Version 3 system.
Its e-filing module allows agencies such as the Legal Aid Department, Syariah Prosecution Department and Syariah legal firms to register civil and criminal cases remotely without attending court counters.
Zulkifli added that the digital Syariah justice ecosystem is being strengthened through the e-Tanzim system, a centralized digital reference hub compiling grounds of judgment and legal references including practice directions, legal principles and scholarly publications.
