IQNA – For visually-impaired Muslims in southern Kyrgyzstan, the Quran is no longer beyond reach.

Visually impaired residents in Osh, Jalal-Abad, and Batken have received Braille Qurans free of charge, courtesy of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan

An event took place in the Osh, Jalal-Abad, and Batken regions where the Quran printed in Braille was handed over for free to visually impaired citizens.

This initiative was organized by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan (DUMK).

Participants in the event included individuals such as the chairman of the Federation of the Blind of Kyrgyzstan, Jalaluddin Abdivaliev, and the imam of the "Yyman" mosque, Nimatullo Ryskulov, as well as representatives of local kaziyats.

The organizers emphasize that this edition will allow visually impaired people to independently study the Holy Scripture and acquire the necessary religious knowledge.

They believe such initiatives contribute to creating more accessible conditions for blind Muslims, expanding their opportunities for spiritual growth.

During the event, books were handed over to residents of the three southern regions who are in need of them.

The project aims to enable visually impaired individuals to read the Quran independently.

The DUMK noted that this event is being implemented as part of the organization's development strategy initiated by the Mufti Aziret Abduaziz Qari Zakirov. This plan includes creating conditions for religious education for people with disabilities, including visually impaired citizens.
