Attempted Burglary at Blackburn Mosque; Suspect Arrested

IQNA – An attempted burglary at one of Blackburn's largest mosques is under police investigation after a man allegedly broke into the building by smashing a window during the early hours of July 12.

Police said the incident occurred at Masjid Noorul Islam Mosque in Audley Range between Saturday night and early Sunday morning. Officers launched an investigation and appealed for witnesses or anyone with CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage to come forward.

The mosque told worshippers that the incident had been reported to police and said it had been informed that a suspect had been arrested.

Mosque officials also thanked local police for their swift response and urged the community to pray for the safety and protection of the mosque.
