Copy of Quran Presented to Egyptian Football Star
In an act of appreciation and celebration, Major General Tariq Marzouk, the governor of Dakahlia, presented Imam Ashour with a copy of the Holy Quran in addition to presenting him with a plaque of honor.
On the first page of the Quran, he wrote a handwritten message full of fatherly feelings and sincere prayers in appreciation of his and his teammates' achievements in the 2026 World Cup.
“In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, I present this blessed copy of the Holy Quran to my beloved son, Imam Ashour, one of the heroes of the Egyptian national team and a native of Dakahlia Governorate, especially the city of Sanbol Lavin. This gift is presented in honor of the unprecedented success that he and the other heroes achieved in the 2026 World Cup. I pray that he will continue to be the guardian of this holy book and a source of pride and joy for the Egyptian people,” he wrote.
He emphasized that true success is always linked to adherence to religious and national ethics and values.
This happened when the governor received Ashour at the governor's office, along with the player's family. The ceremony was held in honor of Ashour’s outstanding performance with the national team during the World Cup, which brought joy to Egyptian fans.
During the meeting, the governor spoke encouraging words to Imam Ashour, urging him to remain humble and never forget his hometown of Sanbol Lavin.
Tareq Marzouk said: “The people of Dakahlia are proud of anyone who achieves success that elevates Egypt’s standing.”
He stressed that celebrating successful figures demonstrates the province’s commitment to supporting successful individuals in various fields. These individuals serve as true role models for new generations and embody the message that dedication and hard work are the paths to success, he stated.
