Istanbul Exhibition Aims to Strengthen Cultural Bonds, Islamic Identity

IQNA – The eighth exhibition of paintings by artists from Turkey and the Arab world was launched in the Turkish city on Sunday.

It is aimed at strengthening cultural bonds and Islamic identity.

The Istanbul Turkish and Arab Artists Association has organized the two-day event centered on “Painting Narratives”, Fanan News reported.

A group of prominent Turkish and Arab artists have displayed their works at the expo, hosted by the Rami Library.

The opening of the event focused on the shared civilizational role of Turks and Arabs in the formation of Islamic civilization and emphasized that artistic and cultural initiatives help strengthen dialogue.

The exhibition showcases a diverse collection of works in fields such as fine arts, visual arts, and applied arts, including oil painting, Arabic calligraphy, sculpture, pottery, and mosaics, as well as the traditional art of illumination.

Among them is the work “The Curtain of the Kaaba” by Zeynep Seyhun, a Turkish artist who is an expert in the art of illumination.

The aim of the event is to strengthen cultural ties and foster a common creative identity between Turkey and the Arab world through a program that includes meetings with artists, seminars, cultural performances and evening events.

Metin Turan, president of the Turkish-Arab Association, stated in his remarks at the opening that the eighth edition of the event brings together culture, art and friendship under one roof.

Emphasizing that art acts as a global bridge that transcends language boundaries, he noted that the aim is to strengthen this bridge of communication between Turkey and the Arab world.

Artists from Turkey, Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, Palestine, Kuwait, Sudan, the United Arab Emirates and Oman are participating in the exhibition, which continues until tomorrow, Monday.
