New Phase, Regulatory Guide for 46th King Abdulaziz Int’l Quran Contest Launched

IQNA – The new phase and regulatory guide for the 46th edition of the King Abdulaziz International Competition for Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Holy Quran, was launched.

Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance and General Supervisor of Local and International Quranic Competitions Abdullatif Al Alsheikh launched the new phase of the contest, which will be held from Safar 23 to Rabi' Al-Awwal 6, 1448 AH.

The current edition has set a record, with 334 male and female contestants representing 133 countries, marking the highest participation since the competition was launched.

The competition aims to encourage Muslim men and women to engage with the Holy Quran through memorization, understanding, and contemplation; foster a spirit of fair competition among Quran memorizers; and strengthen young people's connection to the Holy Quran.

Reflecting the competition's continued development, this edition has recorded the largest prize pool since its launch, totaling SAR10,260,000.

The competition includes five categories: memorizing the entire Holy Quran according to seven recitations; memorizing the entire Holy Quran along with interpreting its vocabulary; memorizing the entire Holy Quran; memorizing 15 parts; and memorizing five consecutive parts.
