Muslims in Canada represent a significant and growing part of the population. As of the 2021 census, approximately 4.9% of Canadians, or nearly 1.8 million people, identify as Muslim. This makes Islam the second most commonly reported religion in the country after Christianity.The majority of Canadian Muslims reside in Ontario, with significant communities also in Quebec, Alberta, and British Columbia. In urban areas like the Greater Toronto Area and Greater Montreal, Muslims make up about 10% and 8.7% of the population, respectively.
