500,000 Taking Part in Quran Memorizer Training Plan

Head of the committee for implementing the Quran Memorizer Training Plan said 500,000 individuals have partaken in the plan.

Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed Mohammad Kazem Musavi told IQNA that the plan has been organized by the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization.

He said over 200,000 individuals signed up for the plan in the first year (last year) and this year the number of participants in the plan exceeded 280,000.

According to Hojat-ol-Islam Musavi the pan started last year in line with the guidelines set by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution about the need for training 10 million memorizers of the Holy Quran.

 He said there is a special quota for registration in each province and that 18 provinces have reached the registration limit before the deadline.

The official went on to say that the plan’s courses are organzied in holy shrine across the country and that the courses are held at different levels.
