‘State of Recitation’ An Opportunity to Raise A New Generation of Quran Reciters
Osama Al-Azhari described the competition as an opportunity to cultivate a new generation of reciters and Quranic talents.
Al-Azhari and Major General Tariq Marzouk, Governor of Dakahlia, witnessed the preliminary stages held at Al-Nasr Mosque in the city of Mansoura with the presence of participants from the provinces of Dakahlia and Damietta to select the best talents and owners of prominent Quranic voices.
Al-Azhari emphasized that the goal of the competition is to discover the most beautiful and melodious Quranic voices in Egypt.
He added that throughout its history, Egypt has cultivated dozens and hundreds of famous reciters who have lit up the skies of the Islamic world.
Al-Azhari said the Egyptian Awqaf ministry hopes that this competition will help to emerge a new generation of reciters who will carry on the legacy of the Egyptian school of recitation and continue its pioneering role.
The presence of participants from different provinces in this competition will help to discover new Quranic talents and encourage children and youth to memorize the Holy Quran and master the recitation, he stated.
Major General Tariq Marzouk also said the memorizers of the Book of God and the owners of distinctive Quranic voices are a strong bulwark for the Egyptian government and the Arab and Islamic Ummah, embodying the values of tolerance, moderation and belonging.

It is worth noting that the second season of the State of Recitation program, which began in Egypt some time ago, continues to discover and nurture talented reciters from different provinces of Egypt.
This program is produced in cooperation with the Ministry of Awqaf and Al-Mutahidah Media Services Company, with the aim of supporting memorizers of the Quran and promoting the culture of correct recitation according to the rules of Tajweed.
