85000 users have posted messages on Twitter expressing their anger at a Bahraini minister’s insult to the Holy Quran.

Bahrain’s Information Minister Samira Rajab has recently referred to some verses of the Quran as Arabic proverbs.

Javad Firuz, former member of Bahrain’s parliament whose citizenship has been revoked by the AL Khalifa regime because of his anti-regime protests, is one of the figures who have denounced the minister’s insulting remarks on his Twitter page.

Meanwhile Samira Rajab has maintained that her insulting remarks are correct, saying that the Quran’s verses are Arabic proverbs.
