The new contest comes at the behest of the Amir to carry out fresh technological projects aiming to serve the holy book, the deputy chairman of the organizing committee, Khaled Bughaith, told a news conference Sunday.
Competing projects should be mainly related to the Holy Quran and its sciences and the product ought to be pertinent to the main topic of the contest, he said.
Individuals and institutions can partake in the technological Quran competition, Bughaith pointed out.
The annual Kuwait International Quran Prize is primarily meant to promote the status of Kuwait as a pioneering state in serving the Holy Quran and caring for Quran memorizers.
It also aims to cater for those individuals or institutions at home and abroad that are in charge of teaching the Holy Quran.
