The Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought will organize the conference with the theme of “Holy Quran and Its Role in Unity of Muslim Ummah”, the public relations office of the forum reported.
Members of the forum’s general assembly as well as scholars and thinkers from 50 countries including Malaysia, Russia, Greece, Lebanon, Iraq, Thailand, Algeria, the UK, US, Australia, Tunisia, Qatar, Uganda, Egypt, and Yemen are expected to participate in the international event.
Several papers will be presented on the theme of the conference as well as subthemes like “Islamic Unity, a Quranic Necessity”, “Unity of Muslim Ummah Based on Quran; Challenges and Obstacles”, and “Current Situation of Muslim Society in View of the Holy Quran”.
Need for acting upon the Holy Quran as a precondition for Islamic unity and fraternity, the Quran’s stance toward Takfir (considering one’s fellow Muslim as infidel), social and political role of the youth in Islamic movements, and Quranic strategies for materializing Islamic unity are among other topics to be discussed at the international conference.
