An eminent Muslim preacher from Romania said Islamophobia has no place in the Eastern European country.

Jafar Tunjil, prayers leader of the Majidiyeh Mosque in Romania, told IQNA that anti-Islamic measures and Islamophobic acts seen in other European countries have no place in Romania.
He referred to the town of Majidiyeh as the place where most Romanian Muslims live and said the doors of the mosque are open to all citizens and the Adhan (call to prayers) is recited without any problems
Tunji added that the town's Muslims live alongside other citizens in peace.
According to the cleric, Muslims in Romania had no problems in practicing Islam even during the Communist era (before the 1990s).
Tunjil, who had previously visited Iran heading a 25-strong religious delegation from Romania's Muftiat Department and was again in Iran for the 31st International Holy Quran Competition last week, further criticized western media's anti-Iran propaganda and said he has seen quite a different thing in the country than what the western media portray.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Romanian cleric regretted the wars and clashes in the Muslim world and said they were provoked by plots hatched by the enemies of Islam.
He hoped that with the grace of God, the Almighty, Muslims hold fast to the Rope of God and stand united against the enemies.
