A number of high-ranking Iranian officials including Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Larijani as well as ambassadors of Islamic countries in Tehran are present at the event.
It will include different programs including presentation of the first human rights award to the head of Al-Nasr Children's Hospital in Gaza, IRNA reported.
The participants will also discuss the situation in Gaza and the Zionist regime's stark human rights violations in Palestine.
During the foreign ministerial meeting of the organization of Islamic Cooperation OIC in Uganda's capital Kampala in 2008, the Islamic Republic of Iran put forward a resolution titled the day of Islamic Human Rights and Human Dignity which was approved unanimously by the Islamic states.
Based on the resolution, August 5 was determined as the World Day of Islamic Human Rights and Human Dignity.
