In a letter, it described ICRO as a reliable partner that has been making efforts for enhancing ties between representatives of the two faiths, Tasnim news agency reported.
The Russian Orthodox Church also said that interactions with ICRO is helpful in the fight against extremism and defending ethical values and brings the people of Iran and Russia closer together.
The 9th round of dialogue between ICRO’s Center for Interfaith and Civilizations Dialogue and Russian Orthodox Church was held in Tehran on August 25-26.
Iranian religious and cultural figures and Orthodox Christian intellectuals from Russia took part at the forum.
“Approaches to reaching mutual understanding between Islam and Christianity” was the main theme of the event.
The participants discussed extremism and how to counter it, religious minorities and the necessity of peaceful coexistence in the world and commemoration of martyrs in view of Islam and Christianity.
