Experts from 5 Countries to Serve as Arbiters in Int’l Quran Contest for Muslim Students

Quran masters from Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Syria, and Turkey will serve as arbiters in the 5th International Holy Quran Competition for Muslim Students.

According to the secretariat of the contest, Ishaq Danish from Turkey, Aqil Hussain Munawar from Indonesia, Muhammad Anas al-Arabi al-Qubani from Syria and Sheikh Abdul Hakim Abdul Latif from Egypt will form the jury panel of the Quranic event.
They will, respectively, judge the contestants’ mastery of Tajweed (rules of recitation) and Sawt (voice), Sawt, Waqf and Ibtida (pause and resumption of recitation), and Hifz (memorization). 
There will also be an Iraqi Quran expert in the jury panel of the competition.
The fifth edition of the International Holy Quran Competition for Muslims Students is scheduled to be held in January 2015 by the Iranian Academics' Quranic Activities Organization.
It is aimed at enhancing Islamic unity, paving the way for promotion of Quranic teachings and culture and providing a venue for interactions among Muslim world students.
The Iranian capital city of Tehran will host the fifth edition of the international Quranic event.
