Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Reza Larijani said special attention to recitation and contemplation of divine verses, and closeness with the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) had given Martyr Larijani special spiritual and moral power, and this spiritual capital was also reflected in his social and political activism.

Hojat-ol-Islam Larijani made the remarks in an interview with IQNA, adding that one of the outstanding aspects of his father’s personality was a very strong spirituality.

“His concern for the Quran and the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) was serious, and this deep connection with religious teachings had given him special spiritual power.”

He added, “During the holy month of Ramadan, I witnessed him repeatedly reciting the Quran and he had a great affinity with the Holy Book. Even in the last days of his life, until the night of his martyrdom, he continued to recite the Quran, which indicated the special place of the Quran in his life.”

He said this dedication to the Quran and deep belief in God Almighty had caused him to have great peace, endurance, and spiritual strength when facing various issues, and this characteristic was also visible in his behavior and decisions.

Emphasizing the role of Quranic principles in the managerial and political approaches of Martyr Larijani, he said one of the important points in his personality was his attention to rationality and moderation based on religious and Quranic teachings.

“He tried to solve the problem in the best possible way and at the lowest cost when facing various issues, both in the domestic and foreign spheres.”

Hojat-ol-Islam Larijani said that for his father, the sidelines and what kind of movement he liked or disliked about a decision were not the main issues; rather, his main focus was solving the country’s problems and securing national interests.

“He believed that someone who is in a position of responsibility should prefer national interests over personal interests, even if it costs him.”

Pointing to the importance of persuading public opinion in the eyes of Martyr Larijani, he said one of the issues he always emphasized was involving the people.

“He believed that, as far as security and military issues allowed, people should be kept informed of affairs and spoken to.”

Hojat-ol-Islam Larijani added, “He also had this view in war situations, and for this reason he conducted several interviews at that time; because it was important for him to provide answers quickly, accurately, and firmly, so that the enemy would not feel weakness (in the country), and the unity of society would be preserved.”

Ali Larijani was martyred in a strike in March this year during the US-Israeli aggression on Iran.
