Rafed, is the second largest Shiite website that tries to spread Shiite culture and beliefs throughout the world.

“The website was launched in 1997 and is available in Arabic and English. Adding the Persian language is being studied,” said head of the Rafed Network Saeed Rahimi.

“Online library, Islamic beliefs, audio files, a section dedicated to Imam Mahdi, women’s section, kids’ section and greeting cards are some of the sections of the Arabic website. The English section has been adapted to the needs and culture of English-speaking visitors and has two additional sections namely the Quran and articles,” Rahimi added.


According to mr. Rahimi the website has had 20.000.000 visitors so far since it was launched 9 years ago. It is the second largest Shiite site and the ninth most popular Islamic website. Rafed’s rank among all internet websites is 12000th.
“The website has 12000 daily visitors on average. The library is the most popular feature of the website. It includes 500 selected books in subjects such as Islamic jurisprudence, lives of the Prophet and Imams, ethics, Hadith, prayers, poetry, and so on,” he went on to say.
