Specialized Course for Quran Reciters Underway in Najaf

IQNA – The Holy Quran Scientific Assembly affiliated to the Astan (custodianship) of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine announced the start of a specialized Quranic course for qaris in Iraq’s Najaf province.

This training course is being held under the supervision of the Assembly’s Najaf Holy Quran Center as part of a scientific program aimed at enhancing the level of learning and skills of participants in the field of Tajweed.

It will run for three months and is held two days a week, al-Kafeel reported.

This specialized course, taught by Karim al-Zubaidi, focuses on the practical aspects of Quran recitation and trains participants to master the characteristics of letters and develop the vocal abilities associated with correct pronunciation. It includes a series of intensive practical exercises to increase the quality of performance and improve recitation.

Attended by forty people, the course is part of the efforts of the Holy Quran Scientific Assembly to expand the knowledge of Tajweed (the science of reciting the Quran), develop the skills of qaris and instructors of Quranic courses, and provide opportunities for different segments of society to benefit from specialized programs that enhance Quranic awareness and the scientific and practical level of recitation and Tajweed.

The assembly has so far implemented various programs to strengthen the Quranic skills of those interested, and recently held a specialized workshop aimed at training and empowering Quranic teachers from among the seminary students in Najaf.
