IQNA – The head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) highlighted the Lebanese people’s steadfastness alongside the resistance front, and emphasized that Iran will stand alongside the Lebanese people.

A memorial service for the resistance media fighter, martyred Al-Alam Network reporter Hussam Zaidan, was held in Tehran on June 7, 2026.

Speaking during a memorial service for the resistance media fighter, martyred Al-Alam Network reporter Hussam Zaidan, Peyman Jebeli said Lebanon today is a symbol of resistance, loyalty, courage and perseverance.

The Lebanon of Sayed Hassan Nasrallah, Sayed Hashem Safieddine and Sheikh Naim Qassem has stood alongside the Iranian people and paid heavy costs to defend the cause of resistance, he stated.

“The Lebanese people have sacrificed thousands of martyrs for the resistance front in recent years, and the women, men, children, and youth of this country have defended the oppressed nations of the region by sacrificing their lives, homes, and property. Therefore, it is the moral, human, and religious duty of all free people in the world to stand by the Lebanese people and not allow this country to be left alone in the face of the aggressions and pressures of the Zionist regime.”

He emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran, which has emerged victorious from difficult regional trials, will always stand by the Lebanese people and will not allow the Zionist regime to abuse the existing conditions to increase pressure on the people of Lebanon.

The might of the Islamic Republic of Iran is not limited to military power, but is rooted in morality, faith, humanity, and the ideals of the Islamic Revolution; ideals that are today recognized as the intellectual basis of the resistance front throughout the region, Jebeli said.

Elsehwere in his remarks, he said the blood of the media martyrs has made the responsibility of journalists heavier, adding that a journalist in the field of resistance does not simply follow a job, but carries a historical mission.

“Recording the oppression of the people of Gaza, Lebanon and other oppressed nations, narrating the realities of wars and recording the crimes of the Zionist regime and its supporters is a duty that must be preserved for future generations.”

The memorial service for Martyr Zaidan was held Sunday, June 7, in the Rezvan Hall of the Basij Building of the IRIB in Tehran.

Zaidan, a Palestinian-born journalist, worked as a reporter for Al-Alam Network in Syria from 2009 until the change of government, and after the fall of the previous Syrian government, he worked as Al-Alam Network’s news editor in Tehran. He was martyred last week following an airstrike by the Zionist regime on the city of Sidon in southern Lebanon.
