Hamas, Islamic Jihad Laud Heroic Operation in Heart of Occupied Territories
The movement said it was a response to the current policies of the Zionist regime, which are based on settlement construction, land confiscation, murder, detention, displacement and assassination of settlers.
The movement warned against the intensification of such policies of the occupation regime, al-Mayadeen reported.
Hamas emphasized that the occupation will not succeed in stopping the wave of resistance in the West Bank, and that the Palestinian nation will continue to confront the Zionist regime until it achieves freedom and regains its rights.
The Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, too, commended the shooting operation in the Kochav Yair area and the killing of a Zionist, saying this operation was a natural response to the crimes of the Israeli regime.
The Islamic Jihad emphasized in a statement that the operation was a natural response to the crimes of the occupying regime and the settlers and the result of the regime’s criminal policies.
Earlier, Israeli media reported that one settler was killed and six others were injured, including two in serious condition, in a shooting Sunday in Kochav Ya'ir area of occupied Palestine.
A reporter for Israel’s Channel 14 said two attackers in a silver Toyota opened fire at four different locations, wounding six people.

One of the victims died at the scene, while the others were taken to hospital for treatment.
Security forces are continuing to search for the second attacker after killing one of the attackers, the reports said.
