Int'l University Students Quran Contest Referees Announced

--Members of the jury of the second international Quran competition for Muslim university students were announced.
The organizing committee of the contest announced Tuesday that the jurors are from Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt and the Philippines.

Abbas Salimi from Iran will head the panel of referees and Ahmad Abolghasemi, Gholamreza Shahmiveh, Hamidreza Mostafid, Sayyed Mohsen Mousavi and Mohammad Hajabolghasemi, all from Iran, will judge the contestants' performance in the categories of Sote, Lahn, Waqf and Ibtida, Tajweed and memorization, respectively.

Hossayn Hamdan from Lebanon, Mohammad Uns Al-Dawamanah from Syria, Abdulbasit Imam Tumara from the Philippines and Halmi Gamal from Egypt are other members of the panel.

Habib Mahkam, Ali Sarabi and Kareem Dowlati from Iran as well as Sheikh Abulainain Shoaisha from Egypt are the competition's supervisors.

The second edition of the international Muslim university students Quran contest is planned to be held in Tehran from November 10 to 14.

On the sidelines of the event, a function is to be held in honor of grand Qari (reciter) of Egypt, Sheikh Abulainain Shoaisha.
