Lebanese foreign minister has dismissed reports on finding the body of Imam Musa Sadr in Tajura cemetery in Libya, Al Akhbar reported.
According to the newspaper, Adnan Mansoor has denied recent allegations on finding the body of Imam Musa Sadr in one of the Libyan cemeteries saying it is a rumor and the investigations into the mysterious disappearance of revered Lebanese Shiite Imam Musa Sadr are continuing.
Referring to his recent trip to Libya, he said that the information received through reliable sources as to the fate of Imam Musa Sadr and his two companions was fully studied and analyzed during various meetings with Libyan officials.
A Lebanese delegation headed by Adnan Mansoor visited Libya last week to discuss with Libyan officials the fate of Imam Musa Sadr and his companions.
Imam Musa Sadr, accompanied by Sheikh Muhammad Yaqub and Abbas Badreddine travelled to Libya in 1978 to meet with Muammar Gaddafi but the three went missing in Libya and their fate still remains unknown. While there have been conflicting reports about what happened to the three, none of the reports have been confirmed by Sadr’s family.
