Fomenting Discord, Enemy’s Policy to Confront Islamic Awakening
Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khamenei said the main policy of the world arrogance in confrontation with the Islamic Awakening is sowing discord.
His Eminence made the statement in a meeting with a number of Iranian officials, ambassadors of the Islamic countries and participants in the 26th Islamic Unity Conference on the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Imam Sadeq (AS).
The Supreme Leader extended felicitations on the occasion and described Islamic unity as the main mission of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
His Eminence referred to the tide of Islamic Awakening that has swept the Muslim world, especially North Africa, stressing that the world arrogance is attempting to sow discord among Muslims in order to confront the Islamic Awakening movement.
“It is upon the religious, political and academic elites of the Muslim world to clarify for the Islamic Ummah the enemy’s plot and strive to materialize the motto of Islamic unity.”
Imam Khamenei described the lunar month of Rabi-al-Awal, which marks the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Imam Sadeq (AS), as the spring of life and said commemorating the occasion should not be limited to celebrations but the Muslim world should strive to enhance its spiritual relation with the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
His eminence added that the occasion is also a reminder that the Muslim Ummah should follow the guidelines and teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and act upon them in life.
The Supreme Leader said the current situation in the Muslim world and the Islamic Awakening have paved the way for acting upon the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
The Islamic Awakening that began in Iran 34 years ago and is now spreading in the Muslim world signifies realization of God’s promise and a move toward victory, His Eminence said.
Imam Khamenei noted that the world arrogance has been trying to hamper the Islamic Awakening since the beginning, adding that if Muslims put their trust in God and have a resolve to move forward, the enemies’ attempts will fail to block their way.
His Eminence referred to sowing discord as the main attempt by the enemies to confront the Islamic Awakening, saying that the only way to stand against the enemies’ conspiracies is unity in the Muslim world.
The Supreme Leader warned that if there is division and discord in the Muslim world, it will lead to the sidelining of the issue of Palestine.
His Eminence referred to the motto of Islamic unity as a sacred one and said if the Holy Prophet (PBUH) were here among us today, he would urge all Muslims to unity and avoiding discord.”
Before Imam Khamenei’s statements, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad gave a speech in which he said the only way for the salvation of the Muslim Ummah is following the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) teachings.
