The Why-Islam awareness campaign in the Broward County is in continuation of a series of billboard campaigns that started in Orlando, Florida in December, 2012. It consists of three billboard locations in Broward County throughout the I-95 stretch, with plans to secure more locations expanding it into the Dade County. The campaign highlights commonalities between Islam, Christianity and Judaism and the universal message brought by all Messengers: to worship only "The One God".
The 'WHY-ISLAM?' project addresses a growing need for accurate information on Islam and Muslims. Islam, the religion of approximately 7 million Americans, and about 1.5 billion people worldwide enjoins faith in One God, to strive for Peace and Justice, practicing humility as well as strong social, communal and family values.
"We are thankful to God, Almighty, for giving us the opportunity to bring this Islam awareness campaign to South Florida." said Naeem Baig , President of the Islamic Circle of North America. "We hope that through this campaign we would be able to reach out to the growing and diverse community of South Florida."
The Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) is a leading American Muslim organization dedicated to the betterment of society through the application of Islamic values. Since 1968, ICNA has worked to build relations between communities by devoting itself to education, outreach, social services, social justice and relief efforts.
