Syria is a major country in the Arab and Islamic Ummah and plays an important role in the axis of resistance, representative of Palestine’s Islamic Jihad Movement in Tehran said.
Nasser Abu-Sahrif told IQNA that the weakening of Syria is no trivial matter, adding that the current crisis in Syria is a deep wound in the Islamic Ummah and the resistance movement.
He urged that Muslim countries must get united and cooperate to find a way to get Syria out of the ongoing crisis.
Abu-Sharif underlined that the Palestinian Islamic Jihad considers peaceful solution as the only way to put an end to the crisis in Syria, adding, however, that any peaceful solution must meet certain conditions.
“First of all, guaranteeing Syria’s territorial integrity is the precondition for any solution. Second, after this crisis is put behind, Syria should remain in the anti-Zionist front.”
He said the Islamic Jihad movement favors a Syrian-Syrian solution based on which the two sides get to an agreement through dialogue.
“It should be a solution that maintains Syria’s strong role in the region,” representative of Palestine’s Islamic Jihad stressed.
He further highlighted the role that Muslim scholars can play to find a solution to the Syrian crisis, a solution that protect s and salvages Syria and its role in the resistance front against the Zionist regime.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Abu-Sharif elaborated on the effects of the Islamic Awakening on the Palestinian resistance movement, saying that the Islamic Awakening brought about changes that paved the way for the liberation of the Muslim Ummah, especially Palestine, from the domination of the hegemonic powers.
He went on to say that although Palestine is not the number one priority for all Muslim countries, with the spread of the Islamic Awakening tide, it will soon become the top priority for all of them.
