Sowing Discord among Muslims Is Playing in Enemies’ Court
Spreading disunity and discord among Muslims, especially neighbors, is playing in the enemies’ court, a grand source of emulation said.
Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem-Shirazi made the remark in a meeting with prominent scholar from the Republic of Azerbaijan Sheikh-ul-Islam Pashazadeh, adding that Islam attaches great importance to good relations with neighbors.
He quoted Imam Ali (AS) as saying that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) put so much emphasis on the relations with neighbors as if neighbors are the same as relatives.
The grand source of emulation underlined that according to the Quran, Muslims all over the world are brothers and any disputes among them should be immediately resolved.
He said the enemies plot to pit Muslims against each other and spread divisions among them because Muslim disunity is in the interest of the enemies.
Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem-Shirazi further called for development of ties between the scholars of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan and expansion of cultural and scientific relations between the two countries.
Sheikh-ul-Islam Pashazadeh for his part delivered the greetings of the people of Azerbaijan and the Caucasus to the grand Ayatollah and invited him to visit the Republic of Azerbaijan.
