The King Mohammed VI Quran competition is held in the categories of memorization and recitation of the Quran, habous.net website reported.
246 men and 28 women are participating in the Quranic event underway at the capital’s Al-Sanah Mosque.
They qualified for the contest after beating their rivals in the preliminary stages held at the city and provincial levels.
Five Quran experts in Quran memorization and recitation make up the competition’s jury panel.
The event will come to a close on Friday, July 26, in a ceremony that is to be officiated by Moroccan King Mohammed VI.
Morocco’s’ Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs annually organizes the Quran competition in the holy month of Ramadan.
