One should read the message of Allah with complete understanding and try to adopt it as a way of life, renowned Islamic scholar Dr. Zakir Naik advised participants in the Iftar party organized by the Riyadh Chapter of the India Islamic Cultural Center (IICC) recently.
The scholar also advised the attendees to read the Quran with its meaning in the language of their choice. He quoted Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as saying that “understanding one verse of Quran is better than just reciting 700 verses.”
He said that this should be the Muslims’ routine. Everyday the Quran should be read with complete understanding, especially during the holy month of Ramadan to get the benefit both in this world and in the Hereafter, he said.
Highlighting the importance of education, DR. Naik urged all to keep a balance between formal education and Islamic education. Education, he said, brings a human being closer to his Creator, the Almighty Allah.
