Quranic Festival for Iranian Students Held in Malaysia

The 6th edition of the Quranic festival for Iranian students abroad was held on July 26 at UPM University of Malaysia.
According to IQNA’s branch in East Asia, the festival was organized by the Union of Students Islamic Associations with the aim of disseminating religious activities and Quranic culture among the youth.
Following the Quran recitation, Amir Rajabi, secretary of this edition of the festival introduced various parts of the program and Hojat-ol-Islam Rasuli Mahallati elaborated on the judgment process of the competition.
The participants competed on recitation, memorization and concepts of the Holy Quran in written and oral sections.
Children from 5 to 12 years of age also competed on memorization of short Surahs of the Holy Quran on the sidelines of the festival.
The program continued after the evening congregational prayers and fast-breaking ceremony with a speech presented by Hojat-ol-Islam Sarlak, Iranian preacher dispatched to Malaysia on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
15 top participants from among male and female students in various categories of the festival were awarded at the end of the program.
