Imam Reza (AS) Int’l Festival, A Manifestation of Iran’s Cultural Diplomacy

Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance referred to the Imam Reza (AS) International Festival as a manifestation of Iran’s cultural diplomacy.
Ali Jannati made the remark in the closing ceremony of the 11th Imam Reza (AS) International Cultural-Arts Festival. The ceremony was held Monday night, September 16, in Mashhad, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Imam Reza (AS).
It was attended by a number of political, cultural and religious officials including head of the Majlis’ Cultural Commission Hojat-ol-Islam Ahmad Salek, Mashhad Friday payers leader Ayatollah Alamolhoda, Secretary General of the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) World Assembly Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Hassan Akhtari, Head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization Mohammad Baqer Khorramshad, Head of the Majlis’ Quran, Etrat and Prayers Fraction Laleh Eftekhari, and former Culture Minister Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Jannati said the holy mausoleum of Imam Reza (AS) in Mashhad is a center of unity and fraternity which convenes people from all walks of life and from different ethnic and religious backgrounds.
He underlined that the Iranian culture has been flourished thanked to the teachings of the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) and based on unity and solidarity.
The culture minister further thanked the Custodian of the Astan Quds Razavi Ayatollah Vaez-Tabasi, Mashhad Friday prayers leader Ayatollah Alamolhoda and the governor of Khorasan Razavi province as well as others who contributed to organizing the 11th Imam Reza (AS) International Cultural-Arts Festival.
Also addressing the closing ceremony was Seyyed Javad Jafari, secretary of the festival, who said the event provided an opportunity for creating new potentials in the field of the Razavi culture.
He said the Seerah of Imam Reza (AS) is a role model for Islamic lifestyle, coexistence, judiciousness and interaction, adding that presenting this model through the means of art and culture is a unique way of cultural diplomacy.
Jafari also elaborated on the accomplishment of the festival and said it has developed at the international level.
Further in the program, 20 servants of Imam Reza (AS) in Iran and abroad were honored including Ayatollah Abdullah Javadi Amoli, Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini, Ali Nahavandi, Mohammad Hakimi from Iran, Utung Suleiman from Indonesia, Kamal Elin Rika from Albania, Seyyed Muhammad Naqavi from Pakistan, Musa Ayaz Takid from Turkey, Abdul kamel Abbas from Cameroon, Narjes Salbiya from Malaysia, and Ali Imam Zayd from India.
