National Quran Memorization Contest in Qatar
The Sheikh Ghanim National Quran Memorization contest in Qatar will be organized on December 21 by the country’s Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs.
According to al-Raya Newspaper, Qatari Quran memorizers can register to attend the contest from October 21 to 28.
The participants will compete in two stages, the first one from December 21 to 26 and the second stage from December 30 to January 1.
The competition will be supervised by a committee of Quran experts and its organizers plan to hold a similar contest in India this year.
Representatives from 25 scientific centers and institutes of India as well as the Islamic university of the country in Bihar State in the north eastern part of India will participate in the competition.
The closing ceremony of the competition will be held on January 19 at Radisson Blu Hotel in Doha, Qatar.
