TEHRAN (IQNA) - A Quranic plan titled “La Tahjarul-Quran” (do not abandon Quran) is underway for pilgrims of Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine in Karbala.

According to the information website of Husseini holy shrine, the plan has been implemented by the Dar-ol-Quran Center of the holy shrine with the aim of encouraging the pilgrims to recite the holy Quran and get more involved in Quranic activities.

The center has attached Quranic posters and placards on the way of the pilgrims marching towards the holy city of Karbala.

There are also posters hung on the walls in public places featuring Hadiths of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Ahl-ul-Bait (AS) stressing the importance of Quran reading and inviting to read the verses of the Divine Book.

The Dar-ol-Quran Center also plans to distribute thousands of Quranic software products and Quranic publications of the center among the Arba’een pilgrims.

Arba’een marks the end of a 40-day mourning period following Ashura, the day that commemorates the martyrdom of the Prophet Mohammad's (PBUH) grandson Imam Hussein (AS) in 680.

Every year, millions of Shia Muslims from all over the world march to the holy city of Karbala to commemorate Arba’een.
