TEHRAN (IQNA) - Media mogul Rupert Murdoch has sparked a new controversy after saying that all world Muslims should be held responsible for Paris attacks, with an army of white people, Australians and politicians rising to apologize for the hateful comments.

“Maybe most Australians not Rupert Murdoch, but until they recognize and destroy their Rupert Murdoch cancer they must be held responsible,” @PeteBrownBeer tweeted on Saturday, January 10.
“I think all of Australia should be held responsible for Rupert Murdoch, another using the name," @adilray added.
Online rage erupted after Murdoch appeared to blame the entire religion for the terrorist attacks on Charlie Hebdo, a kosher supermarket and a policewoman, that left 17 people dead and more wounded.
Though two of the dead were Muslims, a police cop and a journalist, the media mogul blamed all the followers of the Islamic faith, some 1.6 billion.
“Maybe most Moslems peaceful, but until they recognize and destroy their growing jihadist cancer they must be held responsible,” he tweeted.
Rejecting Murdoch's sweeping generalization, commentators apologized for his views on behalf of all white people, or joking that "all idiots in the idiot community" or "all Australians" should be held responsible the tweet.
“As a white man I feel compelled I must apologize for recent comments made by Rupert Murdoch. He can't help being an idiot. Oh wait, he can,” @MrChrisLent tweeted.
“I am calling on all members of the idiot community to condemn Rupert Murdoch. Otherwise I will hold all idiots responsible for him,” @historyscientis added.
Other commentators turned to humor to ridicule the comments.
“Maybe most Ruperts peaceful, but until they recognize and destroy cancerous media dinosaur @rupertmurdoch they must be held responsible,” @hrtbps tweeted.
@rupert_franklin replied with a tweet saying: “@hrtbps I'd like to offer an apology on behalf of us all. Murdoch's comments don't represent the views of mainstream Rupert community.”
Rupert Murdoch, 82, is an Australian-born American citizen, based in New York City.
Beginning with newspapers, magazines and television stations in his native Australia, Murdoch expanded into British and American media, and in recent years has become a powerful force in satellite television, the film industry, and other forms of media.
He is Chairman and CEO of global media holding company News Corporation, the world's second-largest media conglomerate and its successors News Corp and 21st Century Fox after the conglomerate split on 28 June 2013.
Murdoch has gained a reputation for tweeting controversial remarks since joining Twitter on the last day of 2011.
In July last year he tweeted a condensed critique of the situation in the Middle East and south Asia: "What was wrong with Iraq war? Saddam Hussein evil major killer, etc. Execution another matter ... Afghan bad every way now …”
He also described the London 2012 Olympic opening ceremony, celebrated for its presentation of multicultural England, as "too politically correct".
