TEHRAN (IQNA) – Belen Hatay province in Turkey on Saturday hosted a conference titled "Important Status of Woman in Islam and in History".

According to the website of Turkey’s Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet), the conference was held to mark the occasion of International Women's Day (8 March).
Quranic teachers from the Dar-al-Ifta Center of Belen city were among the women taking part in the conference.
It began with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran followed by presentation of speeches.
Zahra Tuz, one of the Quranic teachers of the Dar-al-Ifta Center in her speech discussed the role and status of women in Islam and women in view of the Holy Quran.
