Speaking to IQNA, Peyman Ayazi said he answered the jury panels’ 3 questions correctly and without any mistakes.
He referred to representatives of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Bangladesh as his main rivals in the contest and said he hopes to be among the top winners.
Ayazi noted that winners will be announced at the closing ceremony on Wednesday, April 8.
The Iranian memorizer of the entire Quran described the level and quality of the competition as high and said contenders from some 60 countries are present at the Quranic event.
According to Ayazi, members of the jury panel are from Turkey, Egypt, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Algeria.
He said several programs have been held for the contenders on the sidelines of the competition so far, including visits to historical sites and mosque and attending Friday prayers.
Ayazi had previously represented Iran in international Quran contests in Tunisia, Algeria and Russia.
The sixth edition of Kuwait International Holy Quran Award began in the Persian Gulf country on March 30.
100 Quran reciters and memorizers from some 60 countries are competing in the Quranic event, which will run until April 8.
It is annually organized by the Quranic Affairs Department of Kuwait’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.
