TEHRAN (IQNA) - The 28th Conference of Muslims in Latin America and the Caribbean started in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo on Friday.

Several prominent figures, including Islamic scholars, religious leaders, and Islamic thinkers from various parts of the world are taking part in the conference with the theme of “Extremism and Its Impact on the Muslim Minorities”, IINA reported.
Addressing the conference, Ahmed Alsaifi, chairman of the Islamic Call Center in Latin America, said that Muslims in all parts of the world condemn terrorism and extremism.
He said the conference aims to establish a clear definition of extremism, racial discrimination and terrorism, alleviation of the suffering of Muslim minorities from the effects of extremism, racial discrimination, the hostile growing attitudes in some communities towards Muslims, and working to unify efforts and purposeful and constructive cooperation between institutions and Islamic centers to unify visions and goals.
The delegates condemned the terrorist bombing that targeted a mosque in Qatif, Saudi Arabia.
They stressed that this criminal act is unjust bloodshed and its only goal is to dismantle unity and ignite the fire of strife and sedition in the region.
