Qaris Should Strive to Advance Quranic Objectives

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iran’s representative at the 57th International Quran Competition of Malaysia said Quran reciters are propagators of Islam and should make efforts to advance Quranic objectives.


Speaking to IQNA after his recitation at the contest, Mohsen Hajihassani Kargar added that his main goal in the contest was not winning the first rank but moving forward on the Quranic path.



Hajihassani Kargar said he was satisfied with his recitation and hoped that it was one that touched the audience.



The Iranian Qari further wished success for all of the contestants and hoped they will be able to foster the Quranic culture in their countries.



He described Quran competitions as an opportunity for encouraging people to move towards the holy Quran and a venue for enhancing unity among world’s Muslims.



Hajihassani Kargar’s performance on Saturday night was received very warmly by the audience.



Those who went to the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur to see the Quran contest were thrilled by his  beautiful recitation.



He recited verses from Surah Al Imran, beginning from verse 64.



A number of Iranian Quran masters including Pourmoin, Badpa, and Fallah were also present at the venue of the competition.



Malaysia’s 57th International Holy Quran Recitation and Memorization Competition began in a ceremony in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday.



Quran memorizers and reciters from some 70 countries are attending the five-day Quranic event.
