Winners of Al-Kawthar Int’l Quran Competition Announced

TEHRAN (IQNA) - Top participants in the third round of the preliminary stage of international Quran recitation competition held by Al-Kawthar TV were announced on July 4.


The phone-in Quran competition titled “Inna lil-Muttaqina Mafaza” (Indeed, for the righteous is attainment- Holy Quran, 78:31) has been underway since the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.



 



Seyyed Abbas Anjam from Iran, Sheikh Hamid Ishkanani from Kuwait, ‘Imad Rami from Syria and Sheikh Rafi’ Al-‘Ameri from Iraq were the judges of the third round of the competition respectively in Lahn, Waqf and Ibtida, Sowt and Tajweed categories.



 



Muhammad Zahedi and I’tisam Zeinali from Iran, Muhammad Mahdi ‘Izzuddin from Lebanon, Yunis ‘Abdul Qadir from Germany, Alireza Safari from Afghanistan and Ali Javad Hussein from Iraq were the six winners of this round of the competition.



 



‘Abdul Qadir, the 13 year-old German Qari, was the youngest participant of the competition who succeeded to make it to the semi-final stage.



 



The Egyptian Quran reciters who attended the competition failed to win top ranks.



 



The fourth round of the competition began last night with a judging board comprised Mahdi Daghaghala from Iran, Sheikh Ihsan Seyyed Hassan from Syria, ‘Adil Khalil from Lebanon and Ra’d Al-Ferdowsi from Baghdad.



 



The judges will supervise the competition respectively in Lahn, Waqf and Ibtida, Tajweed and Sowt.



 



The preliminary stage of the competition includes four rounds. 24 participants will be selected to compete in the semi-final stage.



 



From among them, 5 top Qaris will compete in the final stage of the international Quranic event.
