Iranians Decorate Imam Ali’s (AS) Holy Shrine with Thousands of Flowers
According to the website of the Astan (custodianship) of the holy shrine, Mushtaq Al-‘Ameri, member of the Astan, said that a group of Iranian pilgrims, who are experts in floral designs, have decorated different sections of the holy shrine with thousands of the best kinds of flowers.
The flowers were brought from Iran to the holy city by refrigerated trucks and containers used for long distance transportation of plants, he said.
The holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) in Karbala was also decorated with flowers on Eid Al-Ghadir by the Section for Decorating and Planting affiliated to the Astan of the shrine.
The holy shrine of Imam Ali (AS) is hosting Millions of pilgrims from different countries on the occasion of Eid.
The auspicious occasion, marking the appointment by Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) of Imam Ali (AS) as his successor, is annually marked with various ceremonies and rituals around the world on the 18th of Dhu al-Hijjah on the Islamic calendar.
Eid al-Ghadir is also known as Eid al-Akbar (the greatest Eid) in Islamic narrations, since Muslims believe that the mission of all the previous messengers of Allah became accomplished on this day.
