TEHRAN (IQNA) – The grand Sheikh of Egypt’s al-Azhar Islamic Center described burning of the Holy Quran as an act of terrorism.

Speaking at a conference in Cairo on Saturday, Ahmed el-Tayyeb called on those in the West who set mosques and copies of the Quran on fire to stop such actions, the al-Wafd website reported.
He said fighting terrorism with terrorism will get nowhere.
Those who tout about being civilized are not expected to desecrate the sanctities of others, el-Tayyeb added.
A string of terrorist attacks in Paris, France, last Friday led to the deaths of at least 132 people.
The ISIL Takfiri terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
Following the heinous acts of terrorism in Paris, anti-Islamic sentiments have been on the rise in the West.
There have been cases of burning mosques and copies of the Holy Quran in countries like Canada, the US and France.
This is while Muslims all over the world have condemned the acts of terrorism, stressing that they have nothing to do with Islam and that the sublime teachings of the divine religion consider the killing of even one innocent person as equal to killing the entire humanity.
