According to alwasatnews.com, the competition has been organized by the Holy Quran Custody Society (HQCS) and supported by Syed Junaid Alam Institute.
Representatives of 54 countries compete in two categories of memorization and recitation of the Holy Quran.
The Ahmad Al-Fatih Islamic Center is hosting the competition, which will run until November 24.
The awarding ceremony of the contest will be held on November 26.
Abdul-Ghani Al-Omari, the chairman of the award’s organizing committee, described the organization of such a Quranic event as an honor for any society that aims to serve the Holy Quran.
The judging board of this edition of the event comprises six Quran experts from Arab countries.
The Syed Junaid Alam International Quran Award was announced by the Holy Quran Memorization International Organization as the best international Quran competition in 2014.
